The purpose of shot blasting machine

Hello everyone, I am Mr. Guo, an industrial mechanic from China. Our company has been engaged in shot blasting machines, industrial rust removal, gantry welding, and steel production lines for more than ten years. Today, I will focus on the use of shot blasting machines.



A shot blasting machine is a casting equipment that uses high-speed pellets thrown from a shot blasting machine to clean or strengthen the surface of castings. It first appeared in the 1930s and gradually applied in multiple fields. The main uses of shot blasting machines include:


(1)Cleaning the surface of castings: Shot blasting machines can perform sanding, core removal, and cleaning on castings, removing sand particles, oxides, and other impurities from the surface of castings to improve their quality and appearance. ‌12
(2)Strengthening the metal surface: Through shot blasting treatment, the hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue resistance of the metal surface can be strengthened, improving the service life of metal components. ‌
(3)Concrete treatment: In the construction industry, shot blasting machines are used for roughening concrete pavement to improve its roughness and adhesion. They are commonly used for pre-treatment before bridge deck paving to enhance the adhesion strength between the waterproof layer and the concrete base. ‌

(4)Other applications: Shot blasting machines are widely used in metallurgy, mining, machinery manufacturing, automobiles, tractors, weapon manufacturing, textile machinery, shipbuilding, aerospace and other industries, for strengthening metal structural components, surface processing, shot blasting forming and other fields. ‌


The working principle of a shot blasting machine is to project steel shot or other abrasives onto the surface of the workpiece through a high-speed rotating shot blasting wheel, removing oil stains, rust, and oxide layers on the surface. At the same time, different surface treatment effects can be achieved by adjusting the spraying parameters and abrasive particle size. This device is not only efficient, but also capable of processing workpieces of various shapes and sizes, and is widely used in various fields of industrial production.
